Angela Hanson is an innovation lead at the OECD Observatory of Public Sector Innovation. She directs work around innovation methods, tools, and capacity building. She advises governments around the world on their public sector innovation portfolios and organisational support structures. Angela has been a public servant since she was born and worked in multi-level public administrations in the United States. Just prior to joining the OECD, she was an innovation strategist in the Office of Innovation at the City of Austin, Texas, where she focused on project-based capacity building, innovation challenges and prizes, and innovative project teaming and resourcing. Prior to that, she served as the appointed Officer of Urban Forestry and Green Infrastructure for Austin, where she led multi-disciplinary teams for policy and strategic planning efforts. She is currently an advisor for Civic I/O, a startup that exposes government leaders to design, new technologies, and futures thinking.
